The National Toggenburg Club is the oldest breed club in the United States
of America. Our history began with the inception of the original dairy goat
organization, AMGRA. In fact AMGRA was founded in order to show a
Toggenburg doe at the Illinois State fair in the early 1900s. Since the early
days, even before the creation of ADGA, the National Toggenburg Club has
worked steadily to preserve the integrity of the Toggenburg Dairy Goat in
America. To that end, the NTC has created award programs designed to
recognize the Toggenburgs' versatility in production and show. NTC Bell Ringer
awards are given each year for outstanding production and we offer recognition
in the show ring through ADGA open shows through the specialty shows.
The Toggenburg was the first breed to receive star status, Grand Champion
status and LA score excellent. The NTC supports the ADGA National show
by sponsoring the awards for the Grand and Reserve Grand Champions.
We also encourage the youth through our National youth award program.
